About Amenities

Put yourself in the shoes of your typical American RV owner. Your RV trip is undoubtedly something you’re looking forward to, and the time has come to decide where to stay. You check Good Sam (or whichever site you use) and discover that there are five campgrounds operating at your RV vacation destination. You’ll have to choose one, so you compare them all side-by-side and discover that they’re all very… similar. Similar photos, similar descriptions.

Obviously, you’re going to see what amenities are available at all of these campgrounds. If you’ll allow me to make a terrible metaphor, amenities are the elbow macaroni in macaroni and cheese; they’re crucial to the recipe and you want enough of them to make it worthwhile. Your campground is the creamy cheese sauce that holds it all together. The cheese sauce makes all the difference.

As you peruse your five campgrounds, it won’t take you long to notice that, which some exceptions, they all mostly offer the same core amenities:

  1. Bath House - pretty standard

  2. Laundry - a must

  3. WiFi - because you can’t go anywhere without it

  4. Outdoor Activities - basketball courts, tennis courts, a pool, etc.

  5. Cable - probably won’t be around in 5 years

Nothing too exciting there. Some places will have mini-golf, an arcade, or an indoor pool. These are all great added bonuses, fun activities that will definitely entertain your guests for a while. But not indefinitely. These listings exist to get your potential campers to visit your website and book their trip.

Your website is where you win them over.
